Joe Controneo
President
Joe has been with Crescent Crown Distributing since 2002 and brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in the beverage industry. His career reflects a longstanding commitment to operational excellence, business growth, and community engagement.
He earned his Business Degree from Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado, and began his career with E. & J. Gallo Winery. During his ten-year tenure, he held multiple sales and management positions that established a strong foundation for his leadership in the industry. In 1997, he transitioned to the beer sector as General Sales Manager for Coors Distributing Company in Denver, Colorado.
In 2001, Joe was selected for the Coors General Manager Development Program. Upon completion, he relocated to Arizona to serve as General Manager of Pearce Beverage Company, which became Crescent Crown Distributing in 2004. In 2023, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, overseeing Crescent Crown’s operations in both Arizona and Louisiana.
Joe has contributed extensively to the industry through leadership and service on multiple boards and committees. He has served as Chairman of the Beer and Wine Distributors of Arizona, Director of the Arizona Restaurant Association, and Arizona Representative to the National Beer Wholesalers Association, among other roles.
He and his wife, Stacy, reside in the Phoenix area and have three adult daughters—Anna, Morgan, and Ella. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Joe enjoys fishing, hiking, and spending time with his family.

Mark Miller
Chairman
Mark Miller started his career in the food industry in 1972 while still in high school. He worked at Smitty’s at 35th Avenue and Peoria for his junior and senior years.
He spent 4 years in Tucson working in the copper mines south of Tucson while his wife Kitti went to the University of Arizona. In spring of 1978 he moved back to Phoenix and started at Hensley and Company as a driver. After 4 years on a truck, he was promoted to manager of a small sales team in east Phoenix. In a few years he was promoted to VP of National Accounts and asked to call on the buyers for the major grocery and convenience stores. Mark was promoted to VP of Sales in 1994 where he managed the national account team and the off-premises sales teams for over 20 years.
In 1989 Mark went back to college to finish his college degree. He attended Glendale Community College for 4 years, ASU for 3 years, and then finished his degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix in 1998.
Mark was asked to start a new non-alcoholic division for Hensley Beverage in 2009. He grew their sales to over 2 million cases in just 3 years. Mark retired from Hensley Beverage in 2014 and went to work for TalkingRain, the makers of Sparkling Ice. He worked there for almost 3 years, then retired again.
Over his career Mark had served on many charity boards including the Arizona Food Marketing Alliance (AFMA), the Arizona Food Council (AFC), and the City of Hope in Arizona.
In 2019 he received a call from the AFMA board asking if he would like to interview for the Presidents job. Mark enjoyed his 5 years as President of AFMA and retired in 2024. Mark has been married to Kitti for 51 years. They have 2 children, Monica and Jameson. They have one granddaughter, Jade, and another coming soon.

Steve Barclay
Officer
Steve Barclay is a top-rated attorney with his own law firm, Barclay Legal, PLC, based in central Phoenix. He has spent his four-decade legal career practicing in the Phoenix metro area, with stints at two large law firms and several years as in-house counsel at a Fortune 100 company. He is a native Arizonan.
For many years Steve has concentrated his practice in the areas of lobbying, government relations and business expansion, as well as administrative and regulatory law. He serves as the registered lobbyist and advocate for leading national and local business organizations and trade associations, interceding frequently on their behalf at the Arizona Legislature and with the Executive Branch, as well as with federal, state, and local governmental agencies, boards and commissions. His work also includes interactions with members of the U.S. Congress for his clientele. Steve’s subject matter knowledge includes a wide range of industries – ranging from biotech, health care and pharma to electrical energy and water; and from alcohol and tobacco to horse racing.
Steve has for the past 20 years been representing the Beer and Wine Distributors of Arizona, a statewide trade association composed of licensed wholesalers of beer, wine, spirits and other alcohol products. He serves as the Association’s Executive Director, lawyer and lobbyist. In that capacity, Steve has organized and overseen an 80-member industry stakeholders’ group that works collaboratively to ensure that Arizona’s liquor laws keep up with consumers’ needs and foster an orderly and efficient marketplace.
Steve is widely regarded as one of Arizona’s most knowledgeable, effective, and ethical lawyer-lobbyists. He has been consistently recognized for his work in the government relations practice area in The Best Lawyers in America, and he’s been selected as one of Arizona’s Top AV-Rated Lawyers by Martindale-Hubbell. His solo law firm has also received Best Law Firms recognition for the past 14 years in U.S. News & World Report.
Steve received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he was an Assistant Editor of the Law Review, and his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Oral Roberts University.

David DeLorenzo

David DeLorenzo is a native Arizonan. He attended college at Arizona State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. After college David worked for Warner Bros records distributor, which started a 10 year career in the record entertainment industry. While engaged in the record industry, and armed with marketing knowledge, David opened his first marketing company called Diamond in the Rough Promotions.
While building his business, David discovered a niche market that could use his services: the restaurant industry. He developed his current affordable insurance for all sectors of the hospitality industry. David is a dedicated member of Arizona’s restaurant community, constantly staying current on the bar and restaurant industry, marketing to ensure that he is providing outstanding, quality service for restaurateurs.
In addition, David has built a reputation in the industry based on the trust that he will always look to serve the best interest of his clients in both insurance price and coverage. David is a silent investor of four restaurants in the Phoenix metro area. David feels that by traveling to these restaurants and getting his hands dirty he better understands the needs of the restaurant industry and thus, his client.
David is an avid runner and health fanatic. He is a family man at heart and cherishes the time he is able to spend with family and friends. David also enjoys music and science fiction and has a special place in his heart for Star Wars. “For those that need it, make time he will.”

Anthony “Tony” La Salvia

Anthony “Tony” La Salvia is a seasoned professional with over 39 years of experience in the grocery industry, bringing a wealth of expertise across retail, manufacturing, and supplier sectors. As the Sales Manager for the Heritage Division at Breakthru Beverage Arizona, Tony leverages his extensive background in schematic design, category management, account management, and sales leadership to drive impactful results and foster strong client relationships.
Throughout his career, Tony has demonstrated a deep understanding of the grocery and beverage industries, excelling in roles that require strategic planning, operational efficiency, and innovative solutions. His ability to navigate complex market dynamics and deliver tailored strategies has earned him recognition as a trusted leader in his field.
In addition to his professional achievements, Tony is actively involved in industry and community organizations. He serves as Treasurer for the Wine and Spirits Wholesaler Association of Arizona and is a dedicated board member of the City of Hope Southwest Circle of Friends. His commitment to public service is further exemplified by his 12-year tenure as a Maricopa County Justice Court Hearing Officer, where he contributed to upholding justice and fairness in the community.
Tony’s passion for excellence, combined with his leadership and collaborative approach, continues to make a positive impact both professionally and personally.

Jim McCain
Officer
After 18 years of service in the U.S. military, including the Marine Corps and U.S. Army, and deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, McCain now serves as an intelligence officer in the Arizona National Guard and as the director of government affairs with Hensley Beverage Company.
He sits on the boards of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association and the Hensley Beverage Company. McCain is also actively involved with the Business RoundTable, Arizona Chamber of Commerce, Arizona Fund Managers Association and the Beverage Alcohol Community Information Council and he works heavily with multiple veteran charities across the U.S.
